Is there a Fungus Among Us? The Organic Acids and Mycotox Test

walking-on-a-log

The Great Plains Lab Organic Acids Test (OAT) and Mycotoxins lab assessments are some of my favorites to run because they teach us so much about how the metabolism is working… or not working.  The simple to run, at-home test is looking for subtle abnormalities with the metabolites your body is releasing in your urine.

Who should do an OAT lab?  In my opinion, everyone!  This lab is a cornerstone for people struggling with environmental toxicities.  A lot of non specific symptoms like weight loss resistance, autoimmune issues, fatigue, GI (gastro intestinal or stomach and bowel) Issues, chemical sensitivities, and cognitive issues (ADHD and autism)  can be assessed with this lab, there are over 70 markers measured.  It looks at intestinal microbial overgrowth, nutritional and detoxification functions; plus metabolites for neurotransmitters, mitochondria, and more.

The Mycotox test is screening for 11 different mycotoxins from 40 species of mold.  This one is especially helpful if you know you are living in a water damaged house or working in a moldy building.  If there are mycotoxins in your home or office, you can benefit from knowing if they are impacting your health.  Not everyone will need to run this, but those that do will uncover many opportunities for healing from a mold damaged environment.
